Capturing the Essence of a June Wedding

There's an undeniable charm that comes with a June wedding. With daylight lingering longer and nature in full bloom, everything seems to slow down just enough for couples to savor the magic of their special day. This was exactly the atmosphere during Conner and Kendra's wedding, which was a joy to photograph.

Moments Before the Ceremony

The morning began in a serene way. One of my favourite captures from the day was of Kendra's dad giving her a warm hug right before she made her entrance. It's in those candid moments that true emotions shine through, far surpassing the significance of any posed photo. Meanwhile, Conner and his groomsmen buzzed with nervous excitement as they prepared, straightening ties and checking their watches, embodying the exhilarating energy that precedes a ceremony. I have been part of many a wedding, but it always makes me tear up when I see the groom go from nervousness to tears as he sees the bride take each step down the isle. When the reality of a forever "with her" is right before him, its a sweet sight to see.

The Heartfelt Exchange of Vows

The ceremony took place in a picturesque chapel adorned with a wooden cross and lofty beams, setting a beautiful stage for Conner and Kendra as they exchanged vows. Their palette of deep emerald green and soft ivory wove seamlessly throughout the day, from the elegant dresses of the bridesmaids to the groomsmen's carefully matched ties. Kendra, radiant and joyous, walked down the aisle, her laughter filling the space, a precious moment that I was thrilled to capture amidst the celebration. In the sacred moment of promise, surrounded by love, they held onto each other's hands, exchanged rings, and just like that, became husband and wife. It was a moment to remember seeing row after row of family members full of heartfelt tears. The moment meant much to everyone around as it did to the happy couple. Seeing this, reminds me of how weddings are a blessing to capture not just for the happy couple, but for the family members who get to see their niece, nephew, cousin, grandchild, make a decision full of joy they can also experience with them! From one moment they are holding a child in their arms full of life, to seeing that same child, grown and ready to take the task of marriage on, moments like those leave tears ever-flowing of joy down ones cheek.

The Joy of Togetherness

Post-ceremony, there’s a scene that remains etched in my mind, Conner driving, both of them laughing together while Kendra's bouquet rested against the window. It wasn't a staged shot; it perfectly encapsulated their joy as newlyweds, still riding the high of their vows. Then when we stopped, the first photo we took together was of Kendra, Connor and his car. Cars mean alot to Connor, as a car photographer himself, so having a day filled with photos of his new car but more importantly his new forever standing across from him definitely left the impression of being "the luckiest man on earth" in his mind.

Golden Hour Magic

As the sun began to set, the day reached its poetic crescendo. The expansive grounds of Stonefields offered a stunning backdrop, complete with split rail fences and towering trees. We found our spot under a grand tree near a stone wall, where the soft light of dusk worked its magic. In those golden twenty minutes, Conner and Kendra embraced, their foreheads touching, the sun dipping behind the horizon. It's from these slices of time that some of my all-time favorite photographs emerged. Golden hour isn't just this special style of photography for weddings, its a moment that helps show the dream of love better. Golden hour highlights with the soft warm glow of light the smiles of love, affection, romance between the eyes of the couple. This is more than a quick 15 minute photoshoot, it is a experience of where you can just be yourself for the next 15-30 minutes, having a laugh and letting the sun do the work of highlighting how you feel for the person by your side.

The Elegant Reception

The reception was simple yet elegant, just like the couples vision for the day. A single-tier cake adorned with white buttercream and sugar roses graced a wooden slab, perfectly encapsulating their style, no frills, just heartfelt design that puts one at ease.

Final Reflections

Every wedding carries its distinct rhythm, and Conner and Kendra's was vibrant yet unhurried, filled with genuine moments that wove together into a truly beautiful narrative.
